My friend and Noosa triathlete great, David Acheson passed away on Thursday from cancer.

I met David back in 2002 when I moved to the Sunshine Coast to go to University and joined the Noosa Triathlon club. David and his wife Sandra ran the club and were so welcoming, friendly, encouraging and down to earth people, they made my transition into a new sport and town, an easy one.

David did every triathlon possible and encouraged everyone around him to do the same no matter what your ability, age or equipment you had. He always had a joke to tell and went out of hiis way to help anyone out. He also had a quieter, relaxed side to him that made you feel at ease and at peace if you were feeling a bit ruffled. Tall in statue, a big heart and loving attitude will make him sorely missed.

In fine David form he has asked to have his wake at a pub called Irish Murphy's in Noosa. We will all lift our glasses for you David and make a toast (even from Kona) and i will send a lei out in the ocean for you.
